Notes
- new items added to plannedwork page
- https://wiki.mozilla.org/WebAPI/PlannedWork
- URL parsing (Anne)
- base URLs
- find and findAll methods
- needs special subclass of JS array
- Shadow DOM
- Fetch + NavigationController
- lots of questions here (e.g. iframes, workers)
- which 2 or 3 apis/features underway ATM would especially benefit from developer feedback?
- NavigationController (with a prototype, definitely)
- Synchronous IndexedDB (and other features like events when data changes) ... "IDB v2"
- promises, event streams (important for promise-based APIs), data streams
- runtime spec http://runtime.sysapps.org/ (standardization risk, lower priority) and app installation, etc. lifecycle
- Marcos getting access to all manifests in store. Would be good to have this data public.
- event pages
- Notifications API
- storage.js
- URL API
- survey on web API design https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mozilla.dev.webapi/-wP897XmNTI/KJD8hZPwetsJ
- while these sorts of requests are common, techniques and guidelines for designing "good" web APIs is useful outside of the context of this person's PhD thesis
- TC39 (Anne)
- was inteteresting
- ECMA part seems ... "difficult"
- future language features and versions seems to be going well
- regular get togethers about JS seems to work well and better than general web platform
- ES6 been underway for a long time, they're considering more rapid releases
- not much progress on promises, seems like movement by next meeting in September is possible
- sounds like internal model changes but hopefully not much in what's exposed
- we need to do something for gecko 26 (for B2G) by September 16th
