Thunderbird Archiving

Archiving is being used as a way to save messages for later such that they are available for searching and other uses but are no longer visible in the users Inbox.

Archive Button

Archive buttons will be located directly on the message header and footer. On archive of a message the user should be notified of the action with a message that indicates what folder the message has been moved to and a way to undo the archive. Something like the Thunderbird:Interactive Status Bar could give much of these details.

Account Settings

In the account settings window under each accounts Copies & Folders page we add an additional folder selection for Archive. The section works similarly to the Sent and Drafts folder sections

Account Settings (Future)

Future iterations of the Archive settings could allow for more advanced actions on Archive. Other actions could be triggering manual filters to run, moving mails to different locations than a single folder.
