Notes
Full natural language - pipe dream?
- Nice, but black hole - will never be completed to perfection
- There are plenty of other things to solve to make it more usable to normal people
- Makes localization even more difficult
- Localization more important than natural language parser
Solving localization problem
- Giving command authors the right tools
- eg, few know about synomyms
- Prepositions - fixed list/standard list? would help with managing user expectations, and localization
- Verbs suppying noun types only, not prepositions? have prepositions generated automatically, with different sentance structures
- But, need to have much more specific noun types (possibly with traits)
- Need a language with an active community
- Will help figure out what problems need solved
- Japanese? (Jono/Mitcho) current parser is out of date
- Portuguese? (Fern)
To Do
- Advertise the meeting better next time
- Bring in Ray Bango for developing active non-English community
- Mitcho to blog about overload verbs, modifiers, etc
- Jono to put overload verbs on top of his to-do list
