Goal(s) for this week:

  • Finish wrapping up locales for Android before merge
  • Send out email about new sign-off process and why we decided to do this to Achich
  • Work out with mhan issue of iOS descriptions not being localized in Store for some locales

Struggles last week:

  • mostly out last week, so issue was mostly catching up with emails and follow-up on critical ones that needed immediate attention

Goal(s) for this week:

  • String tiers: criteria definition, share draft and start discussion with rest of the PM team, start thinking about how to apply tiers to current files.
  • RelMan+l10n: make sure everyone is on board with the transition plan and next steps.
  • Work on the cycle l10n report.
  • Work on Fennec new locales with Delphine, more mozilla.org updates with Peiying.

Struggles last week:

  • Making sure that Peiying becomes the point of reference for mozilla.org (devs, localizers, not just PMs).

Achievements last week

  • Worked with Peiying on the mozilla.org content updates, exposed strings.
  • Took ownership of Italian press blog.

Goal(s) for this week:

  • Finalize L10nRegistry API and submit for review
  • Advance the stage of formatToParts proposal at the TC39 meeting
  • Push PluralRules spec, ListFormat spec and maybe RelativeTimeFormat spec at the TC39 meeting
  • Start utilizing perf framework to refactor bindings

Achievements last week

  • test262 for formatToParts

First batch of tests for DateTimeFormat.prototype.formatToParts. Still a bit more to do, but expect to submit it tomorrow and use to push for a stage update for the proposal at TC39 meeting.

  • L10nRegistry ready for review

Didn't get to submit for review, but the code stabilizes and retains performance in my perf tests. May need a few more days and will try to submit it for review this week.

  • Performance testing framework for L20n

Got a lot of success at getting better picture into how L20n stacks against current framework in performance numbers and getting a prototype of bindings that retain performance.

  • [x] Help the Chinese, Malay, Tagalog, Indonesian, and Vietnamese teams to decide on goals for Asia hackathon.
  • [x] Perform Indic community outreach for l10n hackathon & send out invitations to those communities we've confirmed we will invite.
  • [x] Add scope details to remaining hackathon Trello boards to start planning remaining 2016 hackathons.
  • [x] Decide on lodging & venue for India hackathon.
  • [] Make progress on ECMA contract (vague, yes, still working out what this means).
  • [x] Progressing the conversation on transparency.
  • [x] Begin planning September off-site.

  • Responding to all emails last week.

  • Responding to some emails last week, despite being on personal leave.

  • Announce filter by Time Range and new filter redesign
  • Submit USCOP project proposal
  • Meet with SUMO and Lithium people and figure out if Pontoon should be used for Lithium-based SUMO KB l10n
  • Identify blockers to enable VCS Firefox locales in Pontoon
  • Add more details to project request email

  • Disable in-place editing
  • Allow unapproving approved translations
  • Enable adding not-in-repository locales to projects
  • Stop requiring Git-based project to use master branch (use default)

  • More sessions with Flod on updating mozill.org
  • Asia Hackathon Planning: come up with budget for Reps (meal plans, transportation, culture activities)

  • Worked closely with Flod to learn the process on working with Bedrock

    • Paid for hostel arrangement through PayPal;
    • Put down payment for food catering through Account Payable;
    • Supplied all required documents for visa applications

  • no more tech debt bugs on elmo
  • patch ready to remove Milestone (bug 1289400), timeline for prod to confirm with flod

Struggles last week:

  • Thoughts about automation threw a wrench in the path to getting automation to submit scheduler events

  • DEPLOYED NEW ELMO IN PRODUCTION. OMG.
