Notes
- Sync message passing between workers used to implement Sync IDB in JS?
- sync message passing largely exists for games
- sicking recommends not implementing sync idb in this way
- 1 reason is that sync idb can be done in shared workers but sync message passing cannot
- Gene's work on DataStore wrapper is still ongoing (likely 2 more weeks' of work)
- television project is getting underway and Gene is going to liaise with involved parties on new APIs
- remote controls could be handled like keyboards (Gene to speak with smaug if this is brought up)
- Ehsan plans to speak with djf about image resizing this week
- use cases around resize & display ("here's a bitmap") _and_ resize & encode ("save bitmap of (resized) image data to another format")
- video thumbnailing
- keyframes, thumbnail at offset, etc.
- hover thumbnailing as you mouse over
- support use cases like https://www.google.com/search?q=iphone+video+trim&tbm=isch
