NB: this release is referred to as Thunderbird 18 in bugzilla but since it's currently going to have Gecko 24 I am going to call it Thunderbird 24 for now.

User Visible Changes to Thunderbird 24
Roland is compiling this page in order to compile a list of what has to be documented for Thunderbird 24 which is what I am calling the post Thunderbird 17 community release. If there is a release prior to Thunderbird 24 then I will change this page appropriately.

- bug 833971 - LDAP passwords are now correctly saved again in Address Book - fixed in TB21 beta cycle 9April2013
- bug 857049- Port Twitter API v1.1 from Instantbird to c-c - fixed in TB21 beta cycle 9April2013
- bug 854162 - Should use nsImapMailFolder::HasMsgOffline() instead of checking for nsMsgMessageFlag::Offline in nsAutoSyncState.cpp - fixed in TB 22 aurora cycle
- bug 824926 - Relative font size doesn't handle nested font size tags correctly - regression in TB17, fixed in TB20 beta cycle
- bug 781333 Use 2x images for HiDPI Thunderbird UI - fixed in TB 22 aurora cycle
- bug 816028 - LIST (SUBSCRIBED) command to Zimbra server with shared folders causes crash in Zimbra and results in disconnection from server - fixed in TB 19 beta cycle
- bug 791311 - Dont disable the menubar for existing users - hide the menubar iff the user is a new user (or we're using a new profile)
- mail.mail_menu.collapse_by_default (defaults to false) - pref that allows enterprises to specify that they don't want the menubar hidden when new accounts are created.

bug 721316 - Use Gmail IMAP Extension of X-GM-MSGID, X-GM-THRID, X-GM-LABELS in addition to XLIST- Landed in TB 17 - IM:
- People who misconfigured their XMPP account with an invalid username. (a correct username looks like an email address): bug 786684 - TB 15 error message: "TypeError: match[1] is undefined" in the Error Console.; TB 17 error message: the error messages won't be very helpful. Typically "Error: Received unexpected data." or "Error: Not authorized (Did you enter the wrong password?)" - On TB24 - "Error: Invalid username (your username should contain an '@' character)"
Thunderbird 17 and previous release regressions fixed in TB 24
- bug 812923 - Dragging a huge number of messages onto a folder freezes TB even BEFORE dropping - FIXED in TB24 as part of TB23 beta cycle
- FIXED in Gecko aka Mozilla 21 which means it will be general release as part of Thunderbird 24
bug 812638 - Thunderbird is inserting random and incorrect (font size="3") tags in the middle of words throughout my email message - This manifests itself as broken spellcheck. - bug 577775 - Invalid account directory path to folders should raise an error dialog/verify setting, not just log in error console
- bug 791542 - [TB17 test] IM account troubleshooting information is erroneous
