Student Reps Orientation week 2010: (Tentative)
Our inaugural Mozilla Student Reps Orientation week aims to teach Student Reps about Mozilla and the program, as well as give them tips and advice on getting started. We hope to make it even easier for them to participate, raise awareness of the Mozilla mission and create momentum for action.

Session Notes
It would be really helpful if rep(s) could take notes at the sessions so these valuable discussions are recorded for posterity, and for those who couldn't attend the sessions.
We recommend using Etherpad to take notes, since it allows everyone in a session to brain-dump their thoughts into it in real-time. It's really cool.

- Orientation week is hosted on Air Mozilla. In order to have good streaming and conversation you may need 256 - 384 kbps of internet speed. Also you can dial in using skype to toll-free number.
- The video Telecasting at Mountain View is made at 30 frames per second with an average internet speed of 2Mbps

Why do i need to signup / RSVP?
- All those who have signed up and participated in the orientation week are considered for various rewarding actions in the future, that include being eligible for the Starter kit. Please make sure you signup / RSVP!
- To make sure that you get the latest happenings that are shared through newsletter which are sent to the RSVP list
Is the orientation week only for existing Student reps?
- If you want to help contribute spreading Firefox or help other Student reps with their events or activities then Orientation week is for you.
- The Orientation week is targeted for both existing student reps and new students or community members who want to learn and contribute to the program and help spread the word.
I am not a regional leader, Can i host a meetup?
- Definitely, you can create a meetup here

- Yes! This is your chance to talk to Mitchell Baker, Mozilla Chairperson & Awesome team who make Firefox even more Awesome each day!
Starter Kit & Official letter
Starter kit has all the materials that you need to get started as a Student rep and start activity. The Starter kits are available limited in number, so the kits are given to the previous active reps and new reps who contribute by taking basic steps. Follow Guidelines on how to get a Starter kit and Official letter
Guidelines on who gets a Starter kit & official letter
- There will be opportunities throughout the year to signup for a Firefox “starter kit pack,” usually around major marketing campaigns like a Firefox launch or the start of the school year. We will let you know when it’s time to submit your requests, so please wait for the right times before asking.
- All active reps who have contributed / reported previously are in priority to request for swag & official letter.
- New reps may want to complete below steps before requesting for:
- Official Letter to identify them-self as a official reps & to get starter kit.
- Complete: Signup + survey
- Join Facebook / Twitter / Orkut group - like, comment and share your thoughts. link to Community Social Media list
- Submit a Essay/video: why do you like to be a campus rep and share one of your Favorite feature or project of Firefox (Blog /FB post or self Video testimonial)
- Must attend Orientation Week / bi- weekly calls
- Read success stories on spreadfirefox.com. Spend time on how other community members are spreading Firefox in their locale.
- Meet local community / club / rep / Regional leader
- Start a /reply to a discussion in the Student Reps Network
- Add Firefox affiliate badge to blog / website / Facebook / Twitter
- Ask nicely / tell us how you are gonna use them.
- Report later (Submit photos, share links, blog post, PR etc related to your events /activity or contribution)
- Official Letter to identify them-self as a official reps & to get starter kit.
- Already did some of the above things? Email studentreps@mozilla.com with the list of things you did and what you need and how you are going to use them. Provide all the useful links to your work, pictures, blogposts, essay, video etc.
