QA Services Team Meeting
- January 12, 2011
- Attendees: matt, marcia, tomcat, aakash, juanb, al, ashughes, marco, tchung
Discussion Items
Project Status
CrashKill [tomcat/marcia]
- tomcat: Crash Monitoring in progress for beta9 and gc compartments landing
Accessibility Status Update [marco]
- Getting moving on myjor blocker bug 498015 again, on a new try-server build and testing the heck out of it.
- Progress on bug 623495, making the new content-modal alerts accessible. Made a local build with a proposed patch today and provided feedback to margaret.
- Outside FX4, took a look at the new generation Bespin AKA Skywriter/ACE, and provided feedback to David Bolter and Joe Walker last week. This one isn't built on Canvas but on real HTML and JS and thus can be made accessible.
- Still nothing on the radar for the next branch releases from our end. I believe we're mostly done on that front unless something unexpected comes up.
Community Building/Events (ideas and progress) [marcia/tomcat]
- Drumbeat San Diego Event coming up February 5 (Saturday)
- marcia has registered for this event - will need to see whether travel costs will be covered to the event.
- Video booth idea for Dare2BDigital Conference in MV
- Saturday, February 12, 2011, 9:00 – 3:30 pm at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View.
- Meeting today proposed by Lukas. She wants to have a booth there and do some interviews with attendees, speakers, parents about the conference and about women in technology and then also showcase open video with the young girls - show them HTML5 video and especially highlight the Universal Subtitles project. The idea is to have us shooting video throughout the day and then doing tutorials on uploading it, subtitling it, sharing it. Mary Colvig is looking into arranging for some of our localizers to be online during the day to translate video with us in order to expose the power of the open web and video together. She has asked for Rainer and myself to participate. This will also be a good event to possibly recruit new community members.
- Tomcat: working on Cebit - maybe also attending Fosdem
QA Videos [marcia]
- marcia sending around a link to the "Making Mozilla Better" video for feedback
- Will also send out a draft of the workbook for feedback
QMO [aakashd/abillings]
- Working on QMO 4.0 timeline and planning on 1/12/2010.
- There is a project page up.
- Bugzilla Stats per user and the achievements plugin for badges for community members is the big additions for this release.
