Title of Session: Designing usable security - Is it Secure if it's Unusable?

How are you currently involved with the community?: I mentor a contributor as part of a Google Summer of Code project. I've attended various security conferences, encouraging people to contribute or apply to Mozilla.
Location of Work (where do you reside?): Mountain View, CA
Talk Length (please choose between 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes): 60 minutes
Summary: Security warnings are often ignored by users and frowned upon by user experience designers. Can we help users make informed choices about security issues without getting in their way? Let's discuss methods to inform users about security threats without using annoying modal dialogs and without asking users to make complicated decisions.
This will consist of a 20 minute talk followed by 40 minute workshop and Q&A
How your session furthers the MozCamp Goals (https://wiki.mozilla.org/MozCampEU2012/Tracks): This session will help spawn ideas on how Firefox can secure our users while providing a good User Experience for them. The case studies will focus on existing firefox desktop and mobile open issues.
Expected Outcome or Deliverable: Proposals for Security UI from the community that will help form a methodology that we can base usable security decisions on in the future.
Desired Audience Type or Skill-set: All Skill Levels welcome - Anyone who has ever used a browser.
Equipment Needs (Video projector already included): In addition to the included Video Projector, we will need a few mics for the case studies and Q&A
