Summary: Roll up your sleeves! This will be a highly interactive workshop session focused on presenting initiatives targeted for the Firefox Browser for Mobile roadmap and developing these ideas further with direct involvement from the community. The main thrust of this session is to solicit feedback direct from our contributors in developing key areas of interest in order to expand our reach to new users and make the mobile web an even friendlier and more interesting place to be.
Themes to explore include:
- Developing the WebRTC story
- Creating local value with a specific eye towards the Asia-Pacific market
- Making Search a real success
- Making our browser 'sticky'
The session will begin with a brief look at the Firefox Mobile roadmap that highlights the key themes above, followed by an interactive workshop to further develop these areas specific to the local market.
How your session furthers the MozCamp Goals: This session would clearly enable the community in developing GA plans supporting Firefox Mobile into 2013. With an eye to steer the discussion towards Asia-Pacific engagement and better understanding local needs, this will not only create a more compelling roadmap for users in this market, but will also create a blueprint for supporting 'local' initiatives for other geographic markets.
Expected Outcome or Deliverable: A clear set of ideas that can be further developed for inclusion into the 2013 roadmap, as well as longer-term ideas that can extend beyond. This is in addition to a better understanding of the true wants and needs of the Asia-Pacific market in developing Firefox Browser for Mobile.
Desired Audience Type or Skill-set: Looking for those interested in engaging actively with the product team in developing the future of Firefox Browser for Mobile. Skill-set can range from the technical (what could be possible) to the whimsical (it would be great if this was possible) to anyone interested in participating in shaping the Mobile roadmap.
Equipment Needs (Video projector already included): Sticky notes, whiteboards, flipcharts.
