Overview

The aim of this initiative is to integrate requirements that address the major needs and wants of the Chinese market, but without having to fork the code.

This will account for greater internal efficiency (no duplication of processes, no need to integrate changes every 6 weeks from the main code line to the forked code line, ability for resources to focus on other projects). This will also account for new growth in a market that is underserved by robust, privacy-centric, connected browsing solutions.

Justification

The hypothesis is that by providing a browser that is more customized to meet the needs and wants of even a small portion of Chinese users, this will increase the total number of users as well as the number of usage hours spent on Firefox for Android.
