Writer Staff Meeting Special Edition

Let's have a special extra writers staff meeting to get things sorted out post-summit!

  • Summit follow-up
  • MDN writing team meet-up (sheppy)
    • I'd like to have an in-person meetup just for discussing writing tasks and content sometime in the next few months. Let's talk about it.
  • Redesign issues

    • Feel free to ping me with other element. I want that Ali & other manager can have a look before sending to Sean.
    • What are the freedom that Ali has: launch date, screen size, ... -> important to think about different alternative solutions for some problems.
    • Teoli: start filing bugs about the rest very soon -> Deadline: Tuesday next week! (so Monday)
    • Teoli: We need to identify problems and a possible solution, but not only the possible solution.
    • a11y: several people are interested in it (helping). First feedback: contrast problem, maybe order problem. They tell about AA label don't know which kind os spec it is, but it may be interesting to look what's in it.
    • we need clarity about which parts of a (landing) page need to be consistent and which parts can be changed from zone to zone. Elements that need to be consistent need defined styles.
      • We're going to have plug-in "building blocks" that you can use to construct these pages with consistent formatting of standard widgets, but using the ones you want where you need them. I don't know when this will happen.
    • Another quick one - would-be contributors complained that it was really hard to find lists of things to be done, for example where do you find the list of tech reviews to be done, or copy edits to be done? We had to Google them ;-)
  • Priorities and requirements
    • There is so much stuff going on, and I'd like a clear idea of when I can/should start working on all this cool stuff ;-) Immediately I have Firefox OS / Apps, but I also have other things on my radar:
    • Completely late with What's new in Firefox... 4 weeks that I didn't wrote anything significant.
    • JS reorg! We need to finish the reorg.
    • Keep in mind we need to start using our new Trello setup: https://trello.com/b/c8gyOUdj/current-work
  • Kuma needs and priorities
    • Localization dashboard - need to keep encouraging devs to land it behind a waffle flag
  • Doctracker 2.0
