MSc in IT Product Design

IT Product Design is a two-year, studio-based programme, leading to the degree of Master of Science in Information Technology. The IT Product Design Course focuses on three areas of design: User Centred Design, Interaction Design and Design Research

Course: HCI / Design Studies

The course HCI / Design Studies will develop skills in pinpointing interaction problems with technologies, appreciating the role of artefacts and technologies in the accomplishment of cooperative work. Students will demonstrate their understanding of the theories and tools covered in class through undertaking an analysis of a work setting, and proposing a redesign of the artefact(s) or technologies in question.

The course will be delivered through a series of lectures and practical exercises geared at enabling participants to develop these skills. Part of these exercises is a semester project running in parallel to the weekly lectures. Students are split up in groups of 3-4 for the project work.

A group of 4 students from this course approached Mozilla Labs for cooperation during the 2011 summer semester project.
