Talking points
- Search plugin changes
- Mobile launch web l10n
Pascal
- worked on page speed optimizations for mozilla-europe.org, page load time now divided by almost 3 on the site, started working with Anthony Ricaud on porting those optimizations to mozilla.com (targetting landing pages and 3.6 in-product pages first)
- met with Mayumi to see all that is coming for Firefox 4 launch and mozilla in general localization-wise, most immediate project will be a one page mini-site likely in November/December. Fx4 will have a version of release notes based on videos that we may want subtitles for, will work with Grace on that. Mozilla.com redesign will be by december, I will prepare that with Milos on mozilla-europe.org and mozilla.com localized pages (have to ping mozillamessaging folks to know if they intend to follow this redesign too and need QA of their localized pages)
- will be tomorrow at Paris Web (Mozilla sponsored event) manning a booth with Anthony and Mounir
- will be Friday/Saturday in JDLL (Lyon, France), meeting with most of the French speaking Mozilla community, will have a workshop on localizations with Goofy
- Anthony and Kaze have updated the SMIL library I use for subtitling, should give us IE6/7/8 fallbacks that would allow using it on pages that are not in-product ones
- Milos kept working on helping new localizers with their commits, helping with a redesign of the WoMoz website and other marketing tasks
