Description

ENGLISH: This event is organized by students of Computer Science Engineering in a Peruvian University. During a week, students and graduates interested in topics related with Information Technologies will hace the oportunity to listen experiences and knowledge from different specialists. Also, there is extra-academic activities.

Mozilla Peru was present the previous edition https://wiki.mozilla.org/IIISemanaFIS-UNICA with two keynotes. In this new week we have assigned three keynotes, but this time with three different speakers.

ESPAÑOL: Este evento es organizado por estudiantes de Ingeniería de Sistemas en una universidad peruana. Durante una semana, estudiantes y graduados interesados en temas relacionados con tecnologías de la información tendrán la oportunidad de escuchar experiencias y conocimientos de diferentes especialistas. También habrá actividades extracurriculares.

Mozilla Perú estuvo presente la edición anterior https://wiki.mozilla.org/IIISemanaFIS-UNICA con dos exposiciones. En esta nueva semana tenemos asignados tres conferencias, pero esta vez con tres diferentes expositores.

As Web developers, one of the main concerns is how vulnerable are our websites or web applications. This talk explains some security risks and, more important, how to avoid them.

What happens when a programmer, not a designer, has to develop user interfaces for web applications? In this talk we explain a set of concepts like design and layout of web applications, usability, SEO, responsive design, LESS, CSS3, ¿Qué pasa cuando un programador, no un diseñador, tiene que encargarse del desarrollo de interfaz de aplicaciones web? En esta charla se presenta una serie de conceptos como diseño y maqueteado de la interfaz, usabilidad, SEO, reponsive design, LESS, CSS3, sources of inspiration and everything you need in order to have a happy customer with the web design.

The talk contains real examples using this techniques and tools.

Boot2Gecko: the Mozilla's bet in the smartphones front

B2G is the new bet of Mozilla. It is an operating system for smartphones based on Linux and Gecko (the technology behind Firefox). The idea is that every software that runs in the telephone is a web app that uses HTML5 and advanced APIs to access the hardware, therefore the development of mobile applications will be more easier.

And why it should be important? HTML5 and JavaScript are the technologies behind the future of the web. Every browser are involved in their development. Also, B2G is Open Source and any developer or organization can be involved in its development.

In this talk we will talk about B2G and Gaia, the user interface developed by Mozilla.

Boot2Gecko: la apuesta de Mozilla en el frente de smartphones

B2G es la nueva apuesta de Mozilla, es un sistema operativo para móviles basado en Linux y en Gecko (la tecnología detrás de Firefox). La idea es que todo el software que corra en el teléfono sea una WebApp que utilice HTML5 y APIs avanzadas de JavaScript para acceder al hardware del teléfono, haciendo mucho más fácil el desarrollo de aplicaciones móviles.

¿Y por qué debería ser importante? HTML5 y Javascript son las tecnologías detrás de todo los relacionado con el futuro de la web. Todos los navegadores modernos están involucrados en el desarrollo del mismo. Además B2G es código abierto y cualquier desarrollador o organización puede involucrarse en su desarrollo.

En la charla hablaremos sobre B2G, y acerca de Gaia, la interfaz de usuario propuesta por Mozilla.
