  • Overall priorites were discussed in the drivers meeting yesterday and here's the list :
   1.3 blockers

   1.3T - need additional T devices and build instructions

   AI : bajaj to follow up with Joe/catlee

   1.4 Partner request/blockers

   Gentle reminder of planned Release EOL for the mozilla-b2g18 and mozilla-b2g18_v1_1_0_hd builds/test's starting March 17 (upcoming merge)

   We will no longer land any secuirty/stability uplifts here and should be directing folks to update to later versions 1.2 and above

   B2G26 will also be supported until June 9

  • Flatfish/Vixen builds and tests
    • Do we want these in TBPL? What priority?
    • Yes, for now this is lower priority given support for 1.3,1.3T,1.4 work. We can reach out to Asa for input on dates if that helps us organize upcoming work
  •  :bajaj to reach out to Asa and get more information here on what level of support is exactly expected here
  • Gaia-integration tests

  • New build targets:
    • No need to do Tarako since Taipei is doing them - https://bugzil.la/956631
    • Flame needed. This is high priority, but per mwu not ready yet
    • emulator-kk required
    • flatfish is low priority
    • open-c/tcl soul can use the flame build, per mwu. can we remove them from the list and close the bugs for now?
      • flame builds should work on open-c
      • tcl soul could have different drivers
      • final flame may end up with different drivers; what we had for mwc is a prototype
      • put open-c/tcl build in the back-burner until the flame builds are ready
    • nexus-4/nexus-5. who needs these? devs are advocating for them in https://bugzil.la/967646, but not sure how it fits wrt the above
      • AI: :jsmith to add comments in the bug to understand why this is actually needed
      • meeting about flame - catlee to set up
        • please include nhirata (QA) in the meeting

  • https://bugzil.la/875963 may be uplifted to 1.3 (Keyboard ALL CAPS permanently, reverted back to the original behavior or lower case/UPPER CASE).
    • Uplift unlikely to happen. Patch is too big.
    •  :Raplh to follow-up with UX and raise to 1.3? if needed. The patch was too risky to be uplifted to 1.3 hence was punted
    • related bug 947558
  • Some users have brought up a desire to install new locales in the phone. Is there a way of doing this? If not, is there a way of implementing this for the future?
    • Reach out to Axel Hecht (:pike) for information on that
    • I expect this is a build and packaging challenge beyond what Axel can help with. OEMs choose locales for the devices they sell in market. It's a great feature request but needs to get in the (Systems? Settings?) pipeline

Security [Paul]

- Revisit security point release discussion 

   - if we are going to tag (?) point releases in line with desktop (i.e. every 6 weeks) do we need additional QA/Releng releases to help
   -- EOL for b2g26 as well ? The idea here is we are "certain" that no one is going to update to 1.2 and backporting any of the work. Paul to follow-up with :clee on this.
   - partner facing releases ( which ones are they)

Stability [Naoki]

General

  • Summary :
  • instability that everyone on central probably knows about from yesterday: bug 978450 which pollutes the crash reports in various signatures. bug 978997 followed the crashing issue.
    • note you may need to reflash the base build and then gecko/gaia on top using today's build
  • need symbols from ZTE for OpenC on 1.3, Alcatel for OT-995, flatfish, Flame, Tarako, Helix
    • Symbol missing on 1.4 : dev builds that hasn't had symbols pushed. Chances are these are builds that dev made themselves and flashed with drivers that may be old. ie they haven't repulled the OEM blob out from the latest blob.
    • email sent out to TAMs as a reminder to get symbols for ALL builds engineering or otherwise for their respective device/companies
  • not enough data for 1.2 and below.

  • bug 970403 - crash in android_atomic_add
    • still need STR

1.3

  • bug 871574 - crash in mozilla::dom::indexedDB::PIndexedDBRequestChild::OnMessageReceived
    • happens on 1.4 as well
