- Communications: Publicity for Harriet K. and Kostas S.’s project launches; Planning for October 13 D&D and October 14 Dublin Tech Summit (Mark keynoting); Copywriting for Facebook Groups campaign
- Engagement: Publications backend and front end work for both Dev and Design. Product detail page is getting the final review this week. Youtube Regrets video getting approvals and streaming service graphic being worked on and getting approvals. Weekly Misinfo Monday & News Beat produced & launched+work on Elections hub
- Partnerships: Working on multiple grant proposals, email campaign follow-ups and post-action fundraising asks, major donor asks, MozFest sponsorship benefits and asks, and preparing for a busy virtual event season
- Fellowships & Awards: Tech+Society host org MOUs, fellow contracts, finalizing onboarding plans + comms; Finalize draft of September F&A updates; V2 of the movement landscape analysis scope; Writing up findings and recommendations from Trustworthy AI x Climate Justice policy workshop; Sustainable Internet for All magazine final content and editing push; finalizing OpenDoTT design research workbooks for the EU and preparing OpenDoTT Internet Health training; supporting CMA Applicants through the application process; Getting CMA jury set up and materials organized; next steps on F&A and MOSS evals
- Campaigns: The Paid Programming/Streaming TV political ads transparency assessment launched last Tuesday, ongoing research and prep for launch of the US Elections misinfo scorecard, kicking off the twitter trending topics campaign, Facebook group recommendations campaign
- Insights: Internet Health Report (finalizing and building design, sending out requests to crowdsource healthy/unhealthy links for “Peoples stories”, working on the content outline), Landscape Analysis Movement Partnerships (v2 of the scope, hiring a researcher), Landscape Analysis Data Stewardship Ecosystem (hiring a researcher)
- MozFest: Website prep for CFP, Wrangler calendaring, session proposal criteria
- Finance & Ops: Review 990 draft and final audit draft, deregister from UK VAT portal, complete MZLA/MOFO service/trademark agmts, complete August Financial highlights, continue Bill.com/RSM contract discussions
- Organizational Effectiveness: Engagement survey evaluation planning; onboarding Jackie Lu–our new Data Lead–to Salesforce, impact and performance measurement, and multi-year planning (email with details welcoming Jackie are forthcoming!)
- HR: Manager training for the job description audit, Diversity disclosure release, ongoing recruitment
- ED: Releasing an RFP for a DEI consultant; reaching out to our short list for board recruitment; reaching out to short-listed candidates for the Africa Advisory Committee
Executive Team Weekly Meeting Minutes
- Board committee prep - Discussed goals and preparation for upcoming board committee meetings:
- Diversity Committee on Oct 6: Sharing update on our diversity disclosure and racial justice commitments, and gathering input on an RFP for a DEI consultant.
- Program Committee on Oct 7: Gathering input on three year trajectories of our AI work.
- Planning - Discussed core components needed for our three year strategy, which will then inform plans/OKRs for 2021. This includes trajectories for our AI work, articulation of our ambition for growth and scale, and where we’ll need to invest in order to reach that ambition. This work is currently in progress, and we aim to have this complete by the end of October.
Leadership Team Weekly Meeting Minutes
- The MoFo D&I Committee joined to share what they’re working on, and to gather feedback on the Diversity Disclosure and consolidated DEI strategy. The D&I Committee will plan to join the leadership team calls once every quarter, to increase alignment and information-sharing.
