What's Moving This Week
- New landing page for Mozilla's racial justice commitments: Mark Surman and Mitchell Baker are executive sponsors for our overall commitments, and Leslie Gray, Chief of Staff (CoS) to Mitchell, is driving the action plan. - Fellowships & Awards: Welcoming Hanan!; CMA launch prep; Tech + Society candidate interviews; Writing 2020 H1 Omidyar grant report; first meeting of FLUXX & Data group; continuing Data Futures Lab grantmaking conversations; Grant for the Web application review; DSA public consultation coordination meetings with policy + advocacy + fellows (one on content and intermediary liability and another on oversight/enforcement); Netgain grant reporting; D&D planning + prep (focus on alternative business models); Siegel partnership renewal
- Campaigns: Continuing work on the misinformation scorecard and streaming TV comparison for the US election. Following up on last week's rapid response US campaign. Preparing for the Youtube extension launch and possible other data campaign groundwork. Ongoing next steps with Ring and Nextdoor. Partner work with #stophateforprofit
- Insights: Finalizing data stewardship landscape analysis “Foundations and failure modes” and preparing the online version, working with vendors on design and development for the Internet Health Report and developing outreach ideas.
- MozFest: Wrangler recruitment, production house contracting, August newsletter publication, survey of MoFo convenings for MozFest.
- Partnerships: Strategy preparation, major donor benefits activity preparation, and prospecting
- Communications: Publicity for fellow Narrira L. and Caroline S.'s project launches; publicity for remaining CMAs; planning for August 25 D&D
- Organizational Effectiveness: Finalizing engagement survey analysis and materials; multi-year planning process and timelines; MoFo monthly call prep.
- HR: Drafting D&I disclosure; Preparing for mid-cycle goals check ins; Moving forward recruitment for open positions; Stay interview focus group work
- Finance & Ops: Review draft of 2019 audit; continue to work on Deloitte 990 workbook; provide additional feedback to consultants on long term forecasting model and discuss next project, and; work with MZLA team on tax planning.
- Engagement: Content/Campaigns planning, PNI Scoping, Homepage IA refresh
Minutes From the Last Executive Team Weekly Meeting
- Executive team OKRs - Discussed objectives and key results that represent the executive team’s priorities over the next 16 months. Planning to share with staff on the monthly MoFo call next week.
- Fundraising update - Juan joined to discuss outreach strategy to major donors in the remainder of 2020.
