This page gives details of the Firefox user agent we are working towards.

Summary

The UA will be the same on all channels.

Linux:

 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:13.0) Gecko/13.0 Firefox/13.0

Windows:

Rationale

Like the Mobile Firefox User Agent string, we are trying to balance backward compatibility, brevity, truthfulness, forward compatibility, footgun avoidance and fingerprint resistance. However, with an installed base of 400 million users, compatibility is a greater concern than with Mobile Firefox.

Recent changes have involved removing redundant and fingerprintable parts of the UA string, such as the browser language and the "U" security identifier.
