Feature Status Review
- Firefox 122 Beta
- No challenged or at risk features at this time!
- Enable the 1-click set to default option for MS store users has been removed from the Fx122 forecast while the team works through the identified challenges. Preparing a Correction of Error document for further info.
- Website Taskbar pinning: metrics collection has been slipped to Fx123 while the team continues working to complete this effort.
- Android and iOS had planned to roll out Review Checker by default and start a Review Checker ads experiment in Fx122, but both have been postponed until Desktop runs another Review Checker UX experiment. No ETA for the mobile rollout or ads experiment.
- Firefox 123 Nightly
- No challenged or at risk features at this time!
- Website Taskbar pinning: Cleanup of extension is still targeting Fx123 and considered on track but may need to uplift some code into Beta Fx123 if they don’t land everything before soft code freeze tomorrow.
- Optimize, measure, and add tests for Speculative Connections has been slipped to Fx124 as the previously planned experiment encountered an enrollment issue. Will need another cycle to run the experiment.
- Finish Nimbusified parallel mozjexl work and land / ESMified mozjexl for experiment slipped to Fx124 as the work was not completed in time for the soft code freeze.
- Allow users to Highlight on PDF slipped to Fx124 as free highlighting hasn’t landed yet and because we are considering adding some sort of callout to notify users about the new feature.
- Support highligthing in PDFs slipped to Fx124 as the work will not be ready in time for soft code freeze
- FYI: Fx123 is the last release before Google launches the DMA browser choice screen (on March 6), giving Android users the opportunity to easily switch to a new browser.
- The iOS team plans to land part 2 of 3 of a major refactoring of the tabs try, a major source of bugs and performance issues. FXIOS-6528 The Android team is rushing to support Android 14 in Fx123 because Android 14 support is an eligibility requirement to be listed on Android’s DMA browser choice screen. This change may cause some regressions. Fx123 is the last Fx release before the DMA date (March 6). FXDROID-386
