mc2 crash rate: 2.67, crash incidence: 3.34%, mc1 summary score: 9.86
[80.0rc1]
- mozilla::ErrorLoadingSheet startup crash (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1656261)
- 11% of browser crashes
- fix in nightly doesn't seem conclusive
- looking at a backout for rc2
- AsyncShutdownTimeout | profile-change-teardown | ServiceWorkerShutdownBlocker: shutting down Service Workers (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1588152)
- 8.85% of browser crashes
- old signature, but higher volume in 80
- seemingly affecting startup as well judging by user comments and uptime info
- seems unlikely to get a fix for 80 at this stage
- shutdownhang | mozilla::TaskController::GetRunnableForMTTask (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1633342)
- 3.22% of browser crashes
- new signature due to refactoring, unclear if there's an actual increase and especially what would explain it
- seems to gather multiple causes, socorro change in flight to separate them
- some crashes are network related, fix likely delayed by reduction of Necko team
- mozilla::dom::ServiceWorkerRegistrar::GetShutdownPhase (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1471720 )
- 2.55% of browser crashes
- fair amount of startup crashes, already present in previous releases, might need a poke
- PLDHashTable::Add | nsBaseHashtable<T>::Put | Parser::Parse (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1653908 )
- startup crashes
- hoping to work around it in rc2
- macos 11 font crash (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1657440)
- 22% (!) of content crashes
- fix likely going into rc2
- printing tab crash: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1659758 - noticed too late to be actionable for 80

QA
Nightly
- Nightly test reports are in progress.
- Print UI - we consider the feature RED from a quality standpoint but with a note that we don’t gate the shipping of this feature to beta (as discussed with engineering, the plans to improve this feature and to fix more issues in Beta remains still)
- PDF improvements - The Nightly report will show a Yellow status due to high number of new issues (12 defects, 2 of them S2)
- Support langpacks across update - Nightly report will be delayed, still figuring out how to test some of the scenarios advised by Eng
Aurora / Dev Edition
Beta
- Pre-release sign-offs were completed, all GREEN sign-offs. discovered major bugs for a few features but nothing blocking/concerning
- Fx80 Pioneer v1 UI - Test report will be delayed due to unanswered questions (got resolved), testing will be conducted on one OS
- Fx80 WNP testing - not started yet, will be live later today as per craigcook

Feature Status Review
- Fx80 Beta is looking good from a feature perspective.
- [on track] Pioneer v2 (80) UI is no longer challenged as the work has all landed and been uplifted into Fx80. Risk here is considered minimal as the exposure to our users is very low.
- Fx81 Nightly has all but 2 feature reported as 'on track'. Given the amount of late landings and known beta uplifts that are expected I have some concerns about the upcoming beta cycle.
- [challenged] Open downloaded files in common web formats as file: URIs in Firefox.
- Looking to get an update here soon that will either have us moving to on track or a clear go to green in place before the soft code freeze in Nightly.
- [challenged] Improve QB (V2) Search Discovery : Search Shortcuts.
- Preliminary testing feedback has revealed a number of issues already which has decreased the confidence around shipping with Fx81.
- [on track] Modernized print UI
- While the project team considers this work as 'on track' we still have a list of work that will need to land and uplifted into Beta Fx81 before we can ship.
- [challenged] Open downloaded files in common web formats as file: URIs in Firefox.
