Stability
- cpeterson mentioned yesterday that now that Focus is switching from WebView to GeckoView (GV), crash reports from Focus+GV are showing up in Socorro with product name "FennecAndroid".
He is working with willkg on the Socorro team to create a separate product name for Focus, but in the meantime, https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/search/?product=FennecAndroid&version=62.0b&process_type=content&date=%3E%3D2018-07-30T06%3A47%3A32.000Z&date=%3C2018-08-06T06%3A47%3A32.000Z&_sort=-date&_facets=signature&_columns=date&_columns=signature&_columns=product&_columns=version&_columns=build_id&_columns=platform#facet-signature will show you the Focus+Geckoview crashes
Nightly
firefox nightly summary score: 4.04, last Thursday 4.12
- Nightly rate is down slightly from Thursday
- Content spike on Linux should start declining now that tiling is disabled - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1480139
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1479795 is visible on nightly. Looks as if there are a few questions in that bug that still need to be answered
- Current Nightly Crash Triage https://wiki.mozilla.org/NightlyCrashTriage/2018Q3
Beta
firefox beta summary score: 2.68, last Thursday 2.87
[philipp] 62.0b14
- biggest remaining regression is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1464938 - 10.5% of browser crashes
- patch on nightly doesn't appear to address the problem isn't applicable to beta
Release
firefox release summary score: 2.28, last Thursday 2.33
[philipp] 61.0.1
- content crash on french webmail site is still farily high: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1473892 - 2.2% of content crashes
- no change/progress in the bug in the past weeks
- crash with new intel driver released through windows update creeping up: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1479795 - 0.6% of content crashes
Mobile
- Crash rate is calculated based on usage hours (the time Firefox is actively used).
- Usage hours will be significantly lower on Fennec than on desktop Firefox, so we can't compare mobile rates to desktop rates.
- Release
fennec release summary score: 28.37, last Thursday 28.35
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1468541 is still the top crash on release. No word yet from Qualcomm. Over 50K crashes to date in this signature.
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1470925 is also high. I added a needinfo to see if it could be recategorized higher than P5
- Beta
fennec beta summary score: 31.61, last Thursday 32.06
- Beta rate looks pretty good, nothing new in the top 20 or so
- Nightly
fennec nightly summary score: 53.30, last Thursday 58.33
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1480852 is the top crash on Fennec nightly. It appears the previous attempt to fix it did not work. I added ni on the developer to see what else could possibly be done to prevent this crash. This crash could increase
in numbers if it gets into beta or release

Roundtable
- [marcia] Android P was released yesterday, and is rolling out to Google Pixel Phones. We should keep an eye on crash stats, since some Pixels have been known to be problematic in the past (Snapdragon 820/821).
- Some work is still needed to make our icons look correct - see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1480854
- [Thomas] FYI - Looking to begin including the various release summary scores within the Weekly Firefox Product Cross Functional on Wednesdays. When will we have year over year data?
