Schedule Update
Current releases dashboard: https://mozilla.github.io/delivery-dashboard
- 58.0rc1
- hit some issues with partials generation, so we're at build3
- should hopefully be ready to push to beta later today (fingers crossed), if LV can run update testing on cdntest. except see below about network woes
- includes the fix for the big Service Worker crashes we've been dragging along most of this cycle
- there'll be an rc2, currently planning to gtb on Thursday
- 59.0b1 (deved)
- same partials generation issues + extra fun as this is the first release without bbb. we're up to build10
- remaining question around https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1423571#c29 which might block and require build11
- fennec 58.0b17: signed off and just shipped to gp
- network issues are delaying all the things ( https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1430670 )
Add-ons
Shield studies
- FYI: Shield studies in flight. https://gregglind.github.io/x-shield-inflight-dashboard
Stability
Nightly
awsy: 1.77 (browser 0.87, content 0.90) telemetry (m+c-s) from sunday: 3.65 (week before: 4.94, this time last cycle: 5.29)
[marcia]
- Nightly rate looks good and is in the green
- A few new bugs filed in the Nightly triage: https://wiki.mozilla.org/NightlyCrashTriage/2018Q1#2018-Jan-15_-_cervantes
- Filed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1430813
Beta
awsy: 1.31 (browser 0.60, content 0.72) telemetry (m+c-s) from sunday: 3.06 (week before: 3.09, this time last cycle: 2.04)
[marcia]
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1416879 is still the top crash in the latest beta, but has been checked into the 58 Rel branch for the next build (RC1). The combination of a few of these signature has caused beta to be in the red
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1034706 has risen to #5 in beta
[philipp] 58.0b16
- Crash in mozilla::ipc::MessageChannel::Clear | ... | mozilla::dom::PContentParent::~PContentParent: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1423261 - 1.1% of browser crashes
- reappearing in 58; assigned
- Crash in URIUtils::ResetWithSource: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1430818
- appears to be regressing from an uplift in b16; only reports from 2 installs so far though
- Cubeb crash fix from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1429666 perhaps worth considering as uplift if there is another rc (was working well in nightly)
Release
awsy: 0.70 (browser 0.37, content 0.32) telemetry (m+c-s) from sunday: 1.54 (week before: 1.68, this time last cycle: 2.37)
[marcia]
- Overall rate looks good for 57.0.4
- shutdownhang | ntdll.dll@0xa3724 is #4 overall crash in 57.0.4 and rising. shutdownhang | ntdll.dll@0x6b19a also in the top overall. Present in 56 but not in this volume.
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1201401 seems to be rising on Mac
