Add-ons
Stability
Aurora
awsy rate: 8.78 (browser 1.30, content 7.58) telemetry (m+c-s) from monday: 3.05 (3.39 last week, 2.31 this time last cycle)
[marcia]
- BaseThreadInitThunk crash is top browser crash on Aurora, but we requested a backout yesterday
- crashes there were apparently related to webroot security software: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1322554#c122
- Rate is slightly higher than what was reported Tuesday
Beta
awsy rate: 0.89 (browser 0.71, content 0.18) telemetry (m+c-s) from monday: 3.55 (3.68 last week, 4.07 this time last cycle)
[philipp] 53 rc1 top issues
- (assigned, regression backed out in rc2) a11y crashes regressing from bug 1342433: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1349847 - 18% of browser crashes
- (unassigned, has a r+ed patch) Crashes in @0x0 | js::Construct with Lastpass addon: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1354294 - 3.5% of browser crashes (8% on release)
- regressing crashes in 53 correlated to avast:
- (assigned, has a proposed diagnostics patch) https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1346012 - 2% of browser crashes, 4.2% of content crashes
- (unassigned) https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1347523 - 3% of content crashes
- I don't want to hold back 53 for this, but we could consider it for 53 dot release later if we manage to fix it in 54 beta. - liz
- still no websense crashes in 53 beta
- maybe retest known bad websense versions again with 53 sometime after the release day when QA has more time for this
- how to update them if we'd decide to no longer block updates for those known websense users on 47, as they'd have to go through the (crashing) 48 SSE2 watershed?
- Let's talk about this with bhearsum
