Schedule Update
- 37.0 desktop and mobile shipped!
- As Kairo noted, stability is not as good as we would normally want in release but with no additional fixes and the level being close to the normal range, we have shipped
- lmandel is off Friday. Sylvestre will manage call about enabling updates at 100%.
- 31.6.0 ESR shipped as well (lmandel needs to update product-details)
- 38 Beta 1 ships Thursday
- Release notes:
- https://www-dev.allizom.org/en-US/mobile/38.0beta/releasenotes/
- Note that we are going to make a 38.1 with screen/tab sharing in Hello / Reading List/Reader View (but the features will be in/part of the 38 cycle)
- 39 Aurora updates enabled Friday
Add-ons
- No updates and no Jorge.
Stability
Aurora / Dev Edition
- Nightly 39 crash rate dropped recently, we are in better shape than with 38 uplift - but then, the difference might be mostly in e10s.
- bug 1149377 (EnterBaselineMethod startup crash) needs to be fixed before we enable updates.
Beta
- DevEdition 38 was down to a crash rate of 2.1 yesterday (we target to be under 1.5 there, but on 37 uplift we were at 3.5, so also better here).
- bug 1137614 (vpx crash) is a concern for 64bit Windows builds.
Release
- Beta 37 was down at 1.51 crash rate yesterday, shutdownhangs are ~0.25 of that.
- This is over the target range of 1.0-1.2 without shutdownhangs, but we do not have any clear targets for improvement, so we agreed on shipping in this state.
- 36 was at 1.38 and close to 0.3 on shutdowhangs at this point, so we got worse.
- We probably have traded Flash plugin crashes on YouTube for browser video crashes to some degree.
- We need to see that we improve stability in the upcoming cycles.

Release
QE
Nightly
Aurora / Dev Edition
Beta
- QE will be done with 38.0b1 tomorrow, everything tested today looks good so far.
- Should we release b1 already tomorrow?
- Yes \o/
- Should we release b1 already tomorrow?
- This is the target cycle for 64bit Windows. KaiRo recommends to only put up 64bit at /all pages (Other systems and languages) for beta and release this cycle, similar to what we have done for Dev Edition, and not have main download buttons point to it. Quality should be good enough for that kind of "soft launch" which will give us a tester and user base but not push it to people who didn't intentionally download a 64bit build (and know what that means).
- Sylvestre will follow up on this
Release
- 37 was signed off on release today, so everything should be live as it should be! \o/
