Stage 1: Definition

1. Feature overview

Users can currently search for general web content, ecommerce items, and reference material, but they cannot search for people. We should add some form of People search to our search list.

Twitter search is probably a good first step.

2. Users & use cases

`

3. Dependencies

`

4. Requirements

The Twitter feature essentially should do the following:

  • Enable users the option to have Twitter as a search service in the search bar
  • Once Twitter is selected as the search service, users should be able to search on the following:
    • Topics in general (any keywords like -- firefox, mozilla, iPad, google, etc.)
    • @ names (@firefox, @mozilla, @generic, etc.)
    • Hashtags (#firefox, #mozilla, #followmenow, etc.)
  • The results in Twitter should appear as if the user were searching for all these on http://www.twitter.com
