FHR/Monitoring

In addition to helping solve specific user issues, FHR data is used to monitor the overall health of the Firefox user population. This describes bsmedberg's request for weekly reports for monitoring this health.

Because these reports contain total usage numbers which are currently confidential, these reports should be available to Mozilla employees.

• Active Firefox usage:
  • Total active users over a weekly period (Current report may be good), by channel
  • Total active usage over a weekly period, by channel (include a "usage per user" number or histogram)
• New Firefox usage:
  • total new users by day, by channel
• Attrition report:
  • number of departing users
  • histogram of how long those users have been active
• Crashiness report
  • crash rate/user for Firefox users, by buildid and by date, broken down by browser crash, plugin crash, plugin hang.
