MDN Stability Issues
- We pushed new celery code that overloaded the celery server. *WebOps helped us manage the issue by periodically restarting the celery server while we fixed the bug in the celery code itself; everything has been pushed to production. As far as we know the wiki is stable again. We're adding a couple more practices to our dev flow to try to prevent these things in the future
MDN Redesign
Going a bit slow due availability of people on holiday. davidwalsh is already working on the implementation of some of the elements. Able to show the redesign behind a waffle flag by Friday. We'll also do a redesign session at the offsite next week
- Q: Are the designs are final, or is david is going ahead with things that are unlikely to change?
- A: david is going ahead with things that are unlikely to change. We're mostly looking for feedback on l10n, usability, stuff that is missing, etc
- Q: where can we see the designs to give feedback?
- A: here: Design Mockups
Developer events
- Events Calendar
- Brazil workshop is a firefox os app workshop, We have about 25+ attendees, but would like to get it closer to 30 or more
Roundtable questions
Is there a free evening at the offsite?
- Etherpad for dinners: https://devengage.etherpad.mozilla.org/10
- Monday is a group dinner
- Tuesday is small groups/free
- Wednesday is an optional group dinner
- Thursday is the Firefox OS launch celebration
- Q: would people prefer a group dinner Wednesday, or to do smaller groups?
- A: people would prefer 1 group dinner, 1 small groups/open and one team dinner
Hacks Post planning
- devtools is going to want to post regularly to hacks, and our fxos evangelists might also post to hacks about the tools. We need to coordinate better & please keep dcamp cc'ed in all devtools communications.
- Robert Nyman has put a placeholder on the calendar for tools posts going forward
- There is a youtube video that needs to be put on the Hacks youtube channel, cheilmann will post on the hacks channel
Company content on personal blogs
- We had confusion about Evangelism Reps pointing people to personal blogs of Mozillians for crucial information about our products. So I put up some information why it is tempting to put company information you work with on your personal blog as it is easy to publish. But I also explained why this is a bad idea.
- See the Post
- Q: is there a Mozilla policy on this subject?
- A: not sure if there is a policy.
