Firefox Sync

What does it do?

Firefox Sync, is a browser synchronization feature that allows users to synchronize bookmarks, browsing history, preferences, passwords, filled forms, add-ons, and the last 25 opened tabs across multiple devices .

Requirements

You just need to have the latest version of Firefox browser .

Setting Up

  1. Click the menu button on the top right corner menu , then click Sign in to Sync. The sign in page will open in a new tab.
  2. Click the Get Started button.
  3. Fill out the form to create an account and click Next. Take note of the email address and password you used, you'll need it later to log in.
  4. Check your emails for the verification link and click on it to confirm your email address. You're ready to go!

Firefox Hello

What does it do?

Firefox Hello lets you have free video and voice calls and text messaging directly in the browser.

Features

  1. WebRTC-grade encryption - which ensures that your conversations are safe secure and protected
  2. Screen sharing
  3. Instant messaging
  4. Direct calling - you do not need an account to use Firefox Hello

Requirements

All you need are a webcam (optional), a microphone, and the latest version of Firefox to call friends who are on WebRTC-supported browsers like Firefox, Chrome, or Opera.

Starting a conversation

Click on the Hello button hello button .

  • Tip: Move the Hello button to your toolbar. For more information, see Where is the Firefox Hello button?.

Click Start a conversation. Label your conversation by typing a name into the Name this conversation field, then use the following options to invite your friends:

  • Email the link to your friend by clicking Email Link button. This will open your default email application.
  • Copy and paste the link into your preferred messaging tool by clicking Copy Link.
  • Share the link on Facebook, Twitter or any of these available social networks by clicking Share Link.

Hello invite

  • When your friend joins the conversation, the Hello button will turn blue hello button active with an accompanying alert. The blue dot on your list will also let you know which conversation is active. To join a conversation just click on it.

Hang up hello

  • The conversation will stay on your list for future use. You can delete it by clicking the trash icon next to the conversation.
