[19:03] <mschroeder> Let's start the QA chat.
[19:03] <mschroeder> ctalbert might joins us later.
[19:04] <mschroeder> Our agenda: http://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:QA_Chat:2007-12-13
[19:05] <mschroeder> We have a test day today and it is quiet. :(
[19:05] <lifesaver2000> Hello. This is my first time here. I believe I have found a lightning bug. Do I just jump in or is there a formal procedure?
[19:05] <Andreas_> Oh, this sounds not good :-(
[19:06] <mschroeder> lifesaver2000: You can tell us what you found and we can look if it is a known bug.
[19:07] <mschroeder> lifesaver2000: If it is a new bug, you should file a bug in Bugzilla at http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/.
[19:07] <lifesaver2000> When I mark a task as done, the completed date is six hours ahead of real time. Everything else, as far as times, works fine, and my time zones are set the same. This is with todays 0.8 build.
[19:08] <mschroeder> Andreas: Yeah, I'm really disappointed. Maybe it'll get better in January.
[19:09] <Andreas_> mschroeder: Yes I hope so, too.
[19:09] <mschroeder> lifesaver2000: I can confirm this behavior. It's a bug.
[19:10] <lifesaver2000> I am on windows XP, with t-bird 2.0.x (whatever it is via auto update). All of my alarms fire at the proper time, which I have read is a problem for some people if they don't have their time zones set correctly. I did a bugzilla search and didn't find this specific thing reported.
[19:10] <lifesaver2000> mschroeder: Do you know if it has been previously reported?
[19:11] <mschroeder> Andreas: I have some problems with the new alarm dialog, but have to investigate further. I can't "Dismiss all", and closing the window lags.
[19:12] <Andreas_> mschroeder: I played yesterday a little bit with he new dialog.
[19:12] <mschroeder> lifesaver2000: I don't think so.
[19:12] <mschroeder> lifesaver2000: Have you used Bugzilla before?
[19:13] <lifesaver2000> I don't have a bugzilla account, and am not really familiar with the procedures, so if someone else wants to file it I wouldn't complain.
[19:13] <Andreas_> mschroeder: I will check this, one moment.
[19:14] <mschroeder> lifesaver2000: If you want to get involved, this is an easy bug to report. But if you want, I'll file it for you because I can confirm it.
[19:14] <lifesaver2000> BTW, six hours is my offset from UTC, which I assume is related. Yes, I actually have to leave now and it might be a while before I could get to it, so go right ahead.
[19:15] <mschroeder> lifesaver2000: It is the UTC time that is shown. You're right.
[19:16] <mschroeder> lifesaver2000: Thanks for reporting the bug to us.
[19:17] <mschroeder> lifesaver2000: Hope, you'll test Lightning in the future and come back. :)
[19:18] <lifesaver2000> Thanks for the great software, it has been a big help for me! Yes, I'll find some way to report any bugs I find, I do want to help make it better, even though I haven't programmed anything myself in 20 years.
[19:18] <Andreas_> mschroder: The first ry woks for me (two alarms on local calendar, 'dissmiss all', dialog is closed)
[19:19] <Andreas_> ry -> try
[19:19] <mschroeder> lifesaver2000: We always need people to do QA and test the product.
[19:19] <mschroeder> Andreas: I hope, I can provide clear steps to reproduce later or tomorrow.
[19:20] <mschroeder> We need more people like livesaver2000. :)
[19:20] <Andreas_> I will do some additional alarm testing tomorrow.
[19:20] <mschroeder> That's great.
[19:21] <Andreas_> Yes, you are right.
[19:21] <Andreas_> We need realy more people.
[19:23] <mschroeder> I agree. I'm desperately looking for an solution.
[19:24] <mschroeder> Maybe I'll have some magic idea over Christmas.
[19:24] <mschroeder> ;)
[19:25] <Andreas_> :-) that would be nice!
[19:25] <mschroeder> Second item on our agenda: Post-0.7 activities
[19:26] <mschroeder> ctalbert hasn't reviewed my patch, and I didn't talk to someone who knows more about enabling unit tests on tinderboxen.
[19:26] <Andreas_> Okay
[19:27] <mschroeder> The Test Automation Summit is stalled at the moment, but I continue working on unit tests.
[19:28] <mschroeder> I have reviewed Sebo's provider unit tests patch.
[19:28] <mschroeder> Sebo: Have you an estimate when you will attach a new iteration of your provider unit tests patch?
[19:28] <Sebo> Probably over the weekend
[19:28] <Sebo> maybe a bit later, though. Time is currently running away
[19:30] <mschroeder> Sebo: I understand. Same for me... too much on my plate.
[19:31] <mschroeder> I hope to test Sunbird & Lightning thoroughly in the next three weeks.
[19:32] <mschroeder> After that I have to reduce my QA efforts to prepare for an important exam.
[19:33] <mschroeder> But I'll be back when the first RCs are ready.
[19:34] <mschroeder> Is there anything somebody wants to bring up?
[19:38] <ctalbert|afk> I should be able to get to your patch tomorrow for review, mscrhoeder
[19:38] * ctalbert|afk is now known as ctalbert
[19:39] <mschroeder> ctalbert: It's not so important.
[19:39] <ctalbert> maybe. I'm trying to stay current with my reviews though. :-)
[19:39] <mschroeder> :)
[19:39] <mschroeder> so, that's the end of the QA chat.
