[18:42] <mschroeder> So, let's start the QA chat. [18:42] <mschroeder> See our agenda here: http://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:QA_Chat:2007-12-06 [18:44] <mschroeder> First item: We'll have a chat/phone conference collision next Thursday. [18:44] <daniel_> we may start the phone call half an hour earlier... [18:45] <mschroeder> daniel: Do you think that works for sipaq? [18:46] <daniel_> don't know [18:46] <daniel_> or you postpone the QA chat for half an hour... [18:46] <mschroeder> so we have two possible solution [18:46] <mschroeder> :) ulf, andreas? [18:47] <daniel_> after all, I like the idea to have the phone call on thursdays, before that QA chat [18:47] <daniel_> this would limit the phone call to one hour :) [18:47] <mschroeder> lol [18:47] <ulf_> I'm a bit undecided, as I'll probably won't make it to nextweek's chat anyway [18:48] <daniel_> IMO there's not so much difference between what we talk on the phone vs. what's relevant from a QA standpoint. [18:49] <mschroeder> ulf: will you suffer from the Sun Christmas party? ;) [18:50] <ulf_> mschroeder: I guess I won't be there either [18:50] <mschroeder> Would 18:00 UTC work in the future? [18:51] <mschroeder> We should discuss it when Clint is back. [18:52] <mschroeder> So, next week at 18:00 UTC! [18:52] <Andreas> Okay [18:52] <daniel_> ok [18:52] <mschroeder> Next item: Test Day preparations. [18:53] <mschroeder> I pinged Damian regarding updating our Litmus testcases. [18:54] <mschroeder> and he has no time before Christmas to lead this task. [18:54] <mschroeder> :( [18:54] <mschroeder> Should we have a Test Day next Thursday at all? Although it will be more ad-hoc testing? [18:56] <mschroeder> imo we should have a test day before Christmas [18:57] <daniel_> +1 [18:57] <ulf_> sounds good [18:57] <Andreas> +1 [18:58] <mschroeder> okay. I'll prepare the announcement (for Sunday/Monday) and a reminder (for Wednesday). [18:59] <mschroeder> Last item: Post-0.7 activities [19:00] <mschroeder> I have a patch for the Makefile to enable unit tests on Trunk and wait for review from ctalbert. [19:00] <mschroeder> daniel_: What's your opinion on enabling unit tests on Trunk tinderboxen? [19:01] <daniel_> does that mean they run in every regular build? [19:01] <daniel_> I mean in non-tinderboxen builds? [19:01] <mschroeder> no [19:02] <mschroeder> At the moment you can do 'make check' in the test directory on Trunk. [19:02] <daniel_> in general I like the idea, but people need to be aware to run the tests, maybe it's worth a review flag or similar. [19:02] <mschroeder> This patch corrects this problem. [19:03] <mschroeder> wrong... at the moment you _can't_ do 'make check' on Trunk. [19:04] <daniel_> anyway, I like the idea to let the tests on the tinderboxen [19:05] <mschroeder> if we have more tests, every backend patch reviewer should run those tests with the patched build. [19:05] <daniel_> s/should/must :) [19:07] <mschroeder> I have to look at the build system and talk to some Mozilla QA guy (probably robcee). We'll see if I get the unit tests running on the Tinderboxen. :) [19:07] <daniel_> you could ask ause, too. He has jump host access to the boxen, too. [19:08] <mschroeder> yeah, I'll do that. [19:09] <mschroeder> That's all I had to present. Anything else we should discuss? [19:10] <daniel_> mschroeder: you shift the next QA chat for half an hour (in the team calendar)? [19:11] <mschroeder> I'll try to... don't know if I have the power. :) [19:12] <daniel_> you have. [19:14] <mschroeder> daniel: Do I have to change the whole recurring event? Or does Google support any kind of exceptions? [19:15] <daniel_> yes, I think so. [19:19] <mschroeder> good... that's the end of the QA chat. [19:19] <mschroeder> :) [19:20] <Andreas> OK, bye!
