[18:48] <mschroeder> Hi. [18:48] <ulf> hi folks, sorry I'm late [18:49] <Andreas> Hi. [18:49] <mschroeder> I'm also late. :) [18:50] <ctalbert> Hi Andreas [18:50] <ctalbert> Yeah, I was late too because it took 15 minutes to get my computer back from being "asleep". [18:50] * ctalbert makes a note to back it up today [18:51] <mschroeder> ctalbert: Have you started the chat? [18:51] <ctalbert> Nope, we're waitin' on you [18:52] <ctalbert> Hmm...now there are suspicious noises coming from the HD [18:52] <ctalbert> :-( [18:52] <mschroeder> okay, sorry. [18:52] <mschroeder> Our agenda: http://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:QA_Chat:2007-11-29 [18:54] <mschroeder> Enabling unit tests on tinderboxen. [18:54] <mschroeder> I hope to get to it this weekend. I've already filed the bug. [18:56] <mschroeder> Next item: The Test Automation Summit. [18:57] <ctalbert> I hope to get the blog post I mentioned last week about the Test A. S. out to the world this week. [18:57] <ctalbert> It's just been a bit crazy with all of mozilla in town. [18:57] <ctalbert> Next week, I'm on vacation, since I'm driving back to Texas. [18:57] <ctalbert> I'll be back online on Dec 11 [18:57] <ctalbert> or Dec 10 [18:58] <ctalbert> Martin, what did you want to do about December test days? Were we going to have one? [18:59] <mschroeder> I think, we should have one before Christmas. [18:59] <mschroeder> Do we want to try a testday on Thursday? [19:00] <mschroeder> ulf, andreas? [19:00] <ulf> next Thursday? [19:00] <Andreas> Why not? [19:01] <ulf> since the task mode is far from being complete I'm a bit unsure [19:01] <Andreas> ok, that is a good point. [19:01] <ctalbert> It doesn't hurt to have people start looking at the feature, even if it isn't completed. [19:02] <ctalbert> Then when it's completed, they'll understand it a bit more [19:02] <ctalbert> There have also been other changes that are landing that could use testing, the Timezone Guess patch needs some good testing too, and it should land by Thursday [19:03] <mschroeder> What about a testday on December 13? [19:04] <ulf> that sounds good [19:04] <Andreas> +1 [19:06] <mschroeder> Maybe Daniel's backend patch will be ready/have landed by then. [19:08] <ctalbert> +1 [19:08] <mschroeder> great. I'll prepare the announcement. [19:08] <mschroeder> Should I be posted on Sunday or Monday? [19:09] <mschroeder> it [19:09] <ctalbert> either one, I guess. Maybe post on Sunday, then post a reminder on tuesday or wed? [19:10] <ulf> a reminder is good [19:11] <mschroeder> ah... I still thought of a testday on Tuesday. I suffer from headaches all day long. [19:11] <mschroeder> okay. Announcement and a reminder. [19:12] <ulf> yes, that'll be great! [19:12] <mschroeder> Should we do ad-hoc testing? [19:13] <mschroeder> Litmus is not really in the shape to use it for all the new features. [19:13] <ulf> perhaps we could file at least some test cases prior to the test day? [19:14] <mschroeder> I'll explain ad-hoc testing in the announcement, but you're right, we could add some testcases. [19:16] <mschroeder> If someone has ideas for testcases, you can send them to me and I'll add them to Litmus. [19:17] <ctalbert> We could try ad-hoc testing, but when we've tried that in the past, the response was not good. [19:17] <ctalbert> We need to try to update Litmus. and may just need to focus some time on that. We should ping Damian about leading that effort. He knows the most about our testcases. [19:18] <mschroeder> That's true. [19:19] <mschroeder> Should I send him an email? [19:23] <mschroeder> good. Does anybody want to bring up something else? [19:23] <ctalbert> Probably would be a good idea [19:23] * mschroeder adds it to the todo list. :) [19:24] <ctalbert> Let him know that we'd help him with this -- it wouldn't be all on his shoulders. But we need his direction to help lead it. [19:24] <mschroeder> okay [19:27] <mschroeder> I think, that's the end of the QA chat. [19:27] <ctalbert> cool [19:29] <Andreas> ok, bye!
