On Oct. 10, 2007 at 3am PST, qm-winxp01 experienced a service outage for 3 hours.
What was affected:
Windows XP unit tests on the Firefox tree
What was the cause of the outage:
'/bin/sh: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable' errors (too many processes?)
Has this type of outage happened before?
Yes. Last time there was stuck processes as well though. Buildbot/OutageReports/20070928-02
What was done to repair:
Rebooted qm-winxp01.
What will be done to prevent this in the future:
qm-winxp01 may need to be replaced.
