Transportation
Athens has a big and complex ground transportation network. Buses, Trams and 4 lines of metro span across it. Fortunately for us we will have to use only two lines! :) The blue one (number 3) and the green one (number 1). More genaral info here http://www.oasa.gr/?id=ind3ex&lang=en
From and To Αirport
Arriving in ATH we will make sure to welcome you on the spot. We will be taking the Blue line ( number 3) from the Airport station towards "Monastiraki" station. This is actually the blue line from start to end so no way to miss it :) Once you arrived in Monastiraki you exit to the ground and head towards the Northen part of the plaza. The first block next to plaza has the Hotel on its side. You are here!
When you are leaving (buhu.. :( ) you will be taking the line 3 (theblue one) from Monastiraki towards "Airport" (). Alternatively you can use the line 3 towards "Doukissis Plakentias" and take frome there the suburban to "Airport" (if you dont find "towards Airport" from Monastiraki which its frequency is every 30 min)
Tickets from and to the airport are "special" and should be purchased on spot before entering the train (we will help with that). As always keep all receipts. The train ride should be 45 minutes one way.
From and To Hackerspace.gr
Arriving to hackerspace.gr from the hotel is done by using only the Green metro line (number 1). Enter the Monastiraki station, and take Line 1 direction to "Kifisia". You exit after 6 stations at station "Agios Eleftherios". Then you walk Chrysostomou Smirnis (the diagonal one) down South and after 3 streets you turn right to Ampatiellou street. On your right (11 number) you have hackerspace.gr !
For heading back to the hotel you should turn right after exiting hackerspace.gr and then on the first street left (Chrysostomou Smirnis). Then all the way up to the station, and you cross the metro line passing below or above it. Then you take Line 1 (the green one) towards "Pireus" and you exit to Monastiraki after 6 stations.
Tickets can be daily and will be provided at your arrival :) The one way trip is aprox 15 minutes.
Check also hackerspace page on that
Moving around for lunch and dinner
For lunch we will make sure to make short walking trips around hackerspace.gr For dinner we will try to use metro lines all together, or worse case we will utilize our cars.
